I consider myself a life-long student, but per my formal education I am a biologist (plants & animals) and geoscientist (weather, rocks/minerals, oceanography). ~ Keri Turner
Just telling the story of this picture will explain ALOT! haha My husband and I were on a cruise in the Mediterranean. This was "formal" night, so we got all dressed up and headed to dinner. We'd had a wonderful time so far, and we'd also been enjoying somewhat smooth seas.
But OOOHHHH, not this day!
What we learned (there's a lesson ineverything)-- this was the last trip to the Mediterranean for this cruise line for the season. Apparently the seas get too rough for leisurely sailing, so they move to calmer waters in mid-late fall. Good to know now, but it was too late for us. Our ship felt more like a dingy, lurching and heaving the way it did. I was getting greener by the minute, cold sweats and all. I left hubby in line three or four times to step outside for fresh air (and to pray I didn't barf on his rented tux). I poked my head inside in time for hubby to motion to me, as it was nearly our turn. I stumbled over like a drunken pirate, but with the camera aimed at us, I sucked it up and flashed a smile like Cindy Crawford on the catwalk in Paris! I'll leave out the rest of the gory details, except to say, soon after this was taken, I had to cover a previously empty wine bucket with a napkin and humbly apologize to the kind server who took it away for me. He is a rule-follower; I push the limits.
